Athletes visa

What can we do?

The first point : You can play for your national team in England.

Second point: You can take a second job if you follow the pre-determined items.

Third point: You can bring your family members to the UK with you.

Fourth point You can travel outside the UK and return to the UK.

Fifth point: You can do what is stated in your sponsorship certificate.

Sixth point: If you enter the UK through an athlete visa, you can stay in the UK for three years and extend it for another three years after it expires. In other words, you can stay in the UK for up to 6 years with this visa.

What we can not do:

The first point : You can not use this visa if you enter the UK through a tourist visa to participate in sporting events.

Second point: You can not use public grants.

Third point: You can not take a second job until you work for your sponsor.

Fourth point You can’t start your own business.

You must provide the following documents when applying for a UK visa:

1- Valid passport or travel documents and old passports (if available)

2. A bank statement that shows you have had at least pounds 945 in your account for a full 3 months before applying for the visa.

This amount proves that you are eligible for financial support and must have this amount in your bank account for 3 months before applying for a visa.

3. If you are a citizen of a “specified country”, you must have the TB test result with you.

4. If you are applying for a UK visa as an athlete or coach, you must provide approval from your country’s Ministry of Sport.

5. To apply for a visa, one page of the passport must be blank.

  • You do not need to have pounds 945 in your account if you have a “Grade A”sponsor who confirms in your certificate of support that he or she will pay your expenses and that you will not claim benefits during your stay.

    If your documents are not in English or Welsh, you must provide an “official translation” of them.

How long can you stay in the UK with this type of visa?

Athlete friends can extend their visa for 12 months, or the time stated on their sponsorship certificate, plus 14 days, whichever is shorter.

You can add your dependents to your online application, including children who have turned 18 during your stay.

Provide biometric information and required documentation

Once you have applied, you will be asked to come to the UK Citizenship Visa Application Office (UKVCAS) for biometric information (fingerprints and photos).

You will also be asked to provide the required documents. To do this you can:

  • Upload them online
  • Scan them at the UKVCAS location.

You must not leave the United Kingdom, Ireland, the English Channel or my island until you have been notified of the outcome of your application. If you quit, your request will be ignored.

How long does it take to get a visa?

If you use standard and routine services, the request will usually be announced within 8 weeks.

If you use a high priority service, the result:

  • If your appointment is on weekdays; You will receive your visa at the end of the business day upon arrival at the UKVCAS office.
  • If your appointment is on a weekend, you will receive your visa within 2 business days of attending the UKVCASoffice.

Business days are Monday through Friday and do not include bank holidays.

If your request encounters a problem, this time may take longer,for example:

  • If your submissions require confirmation
  • If you need to attend the interview
  • Because of your personal circumstances (for example, if you have a criminal record).

If you apply for a visa extension before the deadline, you can stay in the UK after the application and until you receive the result.

You can only apply for a Grade 2 (Athletic) visa if the following conditions are met:

Get financial backup

Your sponsor is the governing body that signs your application. They have issued you a certificate of financial support to prove that they are your sponsors.

How long does it take?

You can apply for your visa for up to 3 months before you start working in the UK. This date in the document Your sponsorship is included.

You will be notified of your visa decision within 21 days when you apply from outside the UK.

Additional treatment costs

As part of your application you will have to pay for medical treatment. Before you apply, check the information about the fee you have to pay.

If you are applying for or applying for a visa extension or replacement in the UK

You will have to pay pounds 19 to get your biometric information (fingerprint and photo).

If you have applied to extend or change your visa in the UK you can pay the following additional fees to speed up the decision-making process:

  • pounds 477 for priority services for decision making within 10 business days.
  • 10 610 for Super Priority Services to make decisions during a business day.

Change the type of visa

If you are in the UK as a sports tourist and your sponsor has given you a certificate of support for this type of visa before you came to the UK, you can change your visa to a visa (temporary staff – arts and sports).

You can also change your visa to this type of visa if you arrived in the UK after 28 April 2015 as a sport or art tourist.

You must submit your application before your current visa expires.

If you have used the privilege of this (sports) visa to enter the UK, you can no longer use this visa.

How long can you stay?

You can stay in the UK for up to 12 months after changing your current visa to an (Athlete) visa.

You must apply online to change the type of your visa.

Affiliates

If you are applying through paper forms, affiliates must “apply for it themselves.”

If you are in the UK as a sports tourist visiting sports festivals and your sponsor has given you a certificate of support for this type of visa before you come to the UK, you can change your visa to a (sports) visa.

You can also change your visa to this type of visa if you arrived in the UK after 28 April 2015 as a sport or art tourist.

You must submit your application before your current visa expires.

Please note that you will not be able to extend your stay if you have used a visa (athlete) to enter the UK.
